What the Grants are Meant to Provide
We encourage applications from Florida west coast artists who have genuine financial needs that are not necessarily catastrophic. The grants are intended for a one-year period of time. The Fund will consider need on the part of an applicant for all legitimate expenditures, relating to his or her professional work and personal living. The size of the grant is $10,000 to be given to one artist each year.

The Fund does not make grants to pay for past debts, legal fees, the purchase of real estate, moves to other cities, or to pay for the costs of installations, commissions or projects ordered by others. With very few exceptions, the Fund will not fund travel expenses.

Reapplication
Applicants must reapply to the Fund even though they may have been declined. All reapplicants should send new slides of their most recent work.

Our procedure requires that a grant recipient who reapplies must wait 12 months from the end of his or her award period. Reapplicants must wait at least 12 months from the date of their application letter to reapply.

Past recipients of our grant should understand that the Fund does not wish to become an instrument of extended or permanent support for particular individuals. Recipients who reapply must have circumstances so changed as to warrant a new approach.
